I dreamt that I was in a small jet plane with a pilot and my mom (who recently passed away) on a runway. These were the kinds of planes that do the air shows. The engines started up and we started going faster and faster and faster. I got the same feeling that I get when we’re about to lift off. Until I saw that the end of the runway was curved upwards. We shot upwards higher and higher into the sky. We were perpendicular to the ground. We went higher and higher until it felt like we were reaching the highest altitude. Until all of a sudden, our planes engine stopped, and we started falling backwards, down down down. I got the same feeling of going down on a rollercoaster. We just kept on falling and I wondered when we were going to land on the ground, but we never did. I woke up.
Dreams involving flight often symbolize freedom, aspirations, and the journey of life. In your dream, the small jet plane represents a personal journey or a significant change. The presence of your recently deceased mother suggests a connection to your past, memories, and perhaps unresolved feelings about her passing.
Here’s a breakdown of key elements in your dream:
The Jet Plane: The type of plane, particularly one used in air shows, may indicate that you are seeking excitement or a break from the mundane. Flights can represent your goals and ambitions, suggesting that you're aiming for something great.
Being with Your Mother: Her presence may symbolize support and comfort, reflecting your emotional bond and nostalgia. It could also denote your longing for her guidance during times of change or uncertainty.
The Takeoff and Ascent: The initial feeling of lift-off relates to anticipation and excitement about new possibilities in your life. It may represent a significant change or transition you are currently facing, fueling your hopes and dreams.
Curved Runway: A curved runway could symbolize an unexpected path or a turn in your life that is beyond your control. It might hint at obstacles or challenges that you perceive in reaching your destination.
Engine Failure and Falling: The sudden stopping of the engine and the feeling of falling can be a metaphor for losing control or fear of failure in a pursuit you've taken on. This aspect reflects anxiety about whether you can sustain your goals and aspirations, illustrating a fear of setbacks.
The Rollercoaster Feeling: The sensation of falling like on a rollercoaster signifies the emotional highs and lows that come with navigating life's ups and downs. It suggests a thrilling yet potentially frightening journey ahead.
Awakening without Landing: Not landing could represent feelings of uncertainty about your current situation or future. It may reflect the unresolved emotions relating to your mother's passing, making you feel as though you are still processing your grief.
Overall, this dream may suggest that you are navigating a period of change or transition while processing your feelings about your mother’s death. It encourages you to embrace both the excitement and fear that come with new experiences, highlighting the importance of maintaining perspective during life’s rollercoaster-like moments.
